HOSPITAL HISTORY
The Kingston Animal Hospital was founded in the autumn of 1947 by Dr. Raymond Russo. His son Mark joined the practice in 1974. Just as Kingston and the South Shore have grown over the years, so have we. Our staff now includes 6 veterinarians and over 25 employees. Many of our doctors have extensive post-graduate training including internship/residency and board certification.
HOSPITAL PHILOSOPHY
We are proud of the high quality care we offer. As veterinary medicine is increasingly able to offer high tech solutions to health care, we find it important to also remember the simpler aspects of medicine and healing. We strongly believe that veterinary care can and should be delivered with hospitality, warmth and concern. As well, we believe in the importance of a kind word and gentle hand in the healing process. We pride ourselves on a long tradition of hospitality, warm bedside manner and nurturing care.
AMERICAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION (AAHA) CERTIFICATION
We've met or exceeded the American animal Hospital Association's high standards of certification for select elite practices since 1959. Their extensive evaluation includes quality assessment review of hospital facilities, equipment, practice methods and pet health care management. Only about 15% of small animal hospitals in the
United States
are accredited and only a small percentage of those receive the highest level of accreditation that we have been awarded. We are thrilled to meet or exceed those high standards.
VOTED REGIONAL FAVORITE ANIMAL HOSPITAL
In June 2007 the Community Newspaper Company which publishes the Reporter and Old Colony Memorial newspapers announced the results of their annual Readers Choice awards. we were honored to learn that the Kingston Animal Hospital was awarded REGIONAL FAVORITE ANIMAL HOSPITAL in our area.
